WELLFLEET — The confusion over cannabis businesses that reigned at the select board’s April 9 meeting continued unabated on May 14 as the board talked in circles for 80 minutes before taking no action either on limiting the number of such stores or on granting a fifth host community agreement to Zachary Ment of Truro and his business partner, Trudy Vermehren of Wellfleet.

Ment, operating as The Old Bank LLC, first came to the board on March 26 with a plan to open a marijuana shop at 10 Main St., the former Cape Cod Bank and Trust building. That building, vacant for several years, is owned by Roland Letendre of Mattapoisett, Ment’s father-in-law.
