With marijuana and and cannabidiol products becoming big business, Cape Cod Community College will offer three fall workshops designed to introduce local people to the cannabis industry.

“It’s an emerging industry. It’s just become a very popular topic,“said Tammi Jacobson, director of workforce development and training at the community college.

The programs are being hosted by the college’s Center for Corporate and Professional Education and taught by representatives of Patriot Care, a subsidiary of Columbia Care, considered one of the largest vertically integrated companies in the medical cannabis industry, Jacobson said.

The first three-hour workshop will be held the afternoon of Sept. 18 at the community college’s Hyannis satellite location at 540 Main St. Session two will be held Sept. 19 at the John Carver Inn in Plymouth. Both will run from 3 to 6 p.m.
