Day of the Dead celebrations, which originate in the deep traditions of Mexican culture as “El Dia de los Muertos,” have found a welcoming home in Provincetown.

Events for the third annual Day of the Dead Festival in town will begin Saturday with storytelling, offer nine days of arts-based workshops, touch on political support for Mexican immigrants and conclude with a parade and program Nov. 2. Activities are designed, according to founding director Dawn Walsh, to honor Mexican and Mesoamerican traditions and incorporate them into local, community-based activities and pursuits.
