First Light Provincetown 2019

Provincetown Brewing Company
The weather outside might be frightful, but there’s no end to the delightful fires you can gather around, the music, the parties, and the sheer joy of closing out one year and welcoming in the next in Provincetown!

Throughout December you can visit The Canteen’s Winter Lodge and Holiday Market, offering a place to gather, warm up, enjoy holiday foods & drinks, buy handcrafted goods from local artisans & experience live music, performances & other events to fill you with warmth & holiday cheer! This year, the Canteen is hosting the fifth-annual version of its holiday festivities!

  • THE WINTER LODGE: The Canteen’s Winter Lodge is a chalet-style pop-up restaurant featuring three heated, holiday-themed dining rooms serving classic European winter dishes like homemade pretzels, schnitzel, potato pancakes and grilled sausages. The bar features hot drinks like mulled wine and cider, hot chocolate, ski-lodge cocktails and a list of winter ales and ciders. The Winter Lodge is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from 5 pm until 10 pm. Reservations and groups welcome! Please email canteenrsvp@gmail.com for reservations. You can see the menu here.
  • THE BACKYARD BAR AND FOOD HUT: The Canteen’s beach bar has been transformed for the holidays, complete with twinkling lights, snug blankets, a fire pit & steaming mugs of hot cocktails and holiday drinks to warm your bones. During the day and night on Saturdays and Sundays, order a drink and some holiday street food favorites — choose from grilled sausages, hot soups, potato pancakes & waffles — and find a cozy nook to sit and enjoy the season with a blanket and friends! The backyard bar will stay open as the night heats up — stop by for an after-dinner drink and some holiday cheer! You can even take a spin on our eco-friendly skating rink — free skates included!
  • THE HOLIDAY MARKET: The holiday gift market runs on Saturdays and Sundays featuring over 20 local vendors each day. This year’s vendors include favorites from years past and many new sellers, too, including local woodworkers, jewelers, painters, leatherworkers, & clothes makers. You will also be able to buy wreaths, trees, & and other holiday decorations for your homes and cottages! The vendors will open at 11:00am and stay open until at least 5:00pm.

ptownie tip: All town parking lots are open and free throughout First Light. However, watch out for temporary parking restrictions on Commercial Street between Johnson Street and Court Street, and no marking or stopping in Lopes Square. They will tow you, so be careful!
