PROVINCETOWN — After approvals from the Historic District Commission last week and the Conservation Commission this summer, the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum’s plans for a funicular to the historic monument are almost off the ground.

The funicular project is scheduled to go before the Planning Board Thursday night for what would be its last round of regulatory approvals. The museum is seeking to have the funicular, which is an inclined elevator, run from Bas Relief Park on Bradford Street up to the base of the Pilgrim Monument at the top of High Pole Road.
