About: The Provincetown Public Library welcomes the community to participate in the January free movie month comprised of four of Monty Python’s finest feature films! This line-up of comedy classics has been carefully selected by Mary Alice Wells, Library staff member and film aficionado. The films start at 5:30 pm and will be shown in the following order:
January 8: And Now for Something Completely Different (1971; 1 hour, 28 minutes): An anthology of the best sketches from the first and second seasons of Monty Python’s Flying Circus (1969).
January 15: Monty Python and The Holy Grail (1975; 1 hour, 31 minutes): King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table embark on a surreal, low-budget search for the Holy Grail, encountering many, very silly obstacles.
January 22: Monty Python’s Life of Brian (1979; 1 hour, 34 minutes): Born on the original Christmas in the stable next door to Jesus, Brian of Nazareth spends his life being mistaken for a messiah.
January 28: The Meaning of Life (1983; 1 hour, 47 minutes): The comedy team takes a look at life in all its stages in their own uniquely silly way.
