Readings and talks by area authors are the centerpiece of the third annual Provincetown Book Festival, which this year will feature more than 30 writers, including Hank Phillippi Ryan, Amy Bloom, James Carroll and – getting an award – Marge Piercy.

Three days of free events at Provincetown Library will delve into such topics as the business of writing books, poetry and young people’s literature, with genres ranging from crime to memoir. There will even be a cooking demonstration on Saturday.
