PROVINCETOWN — The East End’s Harbor Hotel, which calls itself a “laid-back hideaway” that is “retro-glam in all the right places,” was sold last week to a subsidiary of the Linchris Hotel Corp. for $15.5 million. The new owners also own and operate the Surfside Hotel and Suites, less than a mile to the west on Commercial Street.

With 129 guest rooms on 4.5 acres, the former Holiday Inn (and later, Best Inn and Cape Inn) is the largest hotel in Provincetown, and the selling price appears to have set a record for a commercial property in town. The previous owners, a group of investors including William and Todd Finard, Robert Hughes, Robert Thomas and Gary Avigne, operating as 698 Commercial Street Realty LLC, bought the hotel in 2010 for $5.1 million.
