Women’s Week Provincetown Continues…
October 8, 2018 – October 14, 2018 throughout Provincetown
One of the oldest and largest lesbian events in the country, Provincetown’s Women’s Week fills the town with women: comedians, musicians, DJs, performers, and (naturally!) attendees. There’s a special clambake, a couple of dune tours, and a lot of great shows. Comedy offerings include town favorite Kate Clinton (Knock, Knock! It’s the Zombie Apocalypse!) as well as Julie Goldman, Vickie Shaw, and Karen Williams; they’re joined by musicians Julie Wheeler, Karen Greiner, and Suede. Onward to the Wonder Woman party, the Ghost Tour, the Steam party, the scavenger hunt, and Women’s Week’s version of Idol. And of course there’s outrageous dancing and clubbing every night!
Laramie Project
October 11, 2018 – October 28, 2018 at Provincetown Theater (Thursday – Sunday)
A modern American classic, The Laramie Project tells the story of the people of Laramie, Wyoming and how the brutal murder of gay college student Matthew Shepard impacted and changed their community forever. Culled from over 200 interviews with local residents by members of The Tectonic Theater Project, the play creates and witnesses a world authentic to its time and place. Our 20th anniversary production is directed by one of the original creators, Leigh Fondakowski, head writer of this awardwinning play. More at provincetowntheater.org.
