    “The Drag” at Provincetown Theater
    Date: 2022-05-22     Time: 2 PM : 0 minutes

The Provincetown Theater begins the 2022 season off with Mae West’s “Homosexual Comedy”. Banned in 1927, “The Drag” will have its Re-premier of Mae West’s notorious melodrama telling the taboo tale of a closeted Park Avenue newlywed and his secret double-life with a pack of Greenwich Village drag queens. Still as funny and relevant as it was nearly 100 years ago, the Provincetown Theater’s mounting of West’s forgotten work will be its first professional mounting since the cops closed her down in 1927.
