    Roderick Ferguson: Man Overboard
    Date: 2022-07-18     Time: 9 PM : 0 minutes

MAN OVERBOARD!!! is the hilarious, yet moving story of a comedian who fought for gay marriage in a small island nation. Should we get more specific? The comedian is Roderick Ferguson and the nation is Bermuda. Dont worry if you havent heard of either, youll still enjoy the show. Its an unforgivably autobiographical story but this isnt therapy for him, or for you, though Roderick encourages you to seek help elsewhere. Directed by the incomparable Faith Prince, with original arrangements by Bobby Peaco, its a story with lots of humor, a few songs, and a little mama drama!

MAN OVERBOARD!!! is a genuinely hilarious program based on the real-life experiences of a man who isn’t famous but who, with shows like this, should be headlining clubs, cabarets, and cruise ships all over the world.
    BROADWAYWORLD

at once hysterically funny, moving and poignant […] an exceptional ability to engage an audience”
    THEATER PIZZAZZ

Ferguson has the chops to tell his hilarious autobiographical tale of personal growth, coming out, and suing the government of his native Bermuda over LGBTQ rights, all without an ounce of self-praise or self-pity.
    EDGE MEDIA

Its not just that hes likable (never a bad thing for a performer) but the way he relates his stories make it sound as if hes telling them for the first time.
    THEATER MIRROR

“genuinely hilarious […] wildly entertaining […] a real life story that touches, amazes, and inspires”
    BROADWAYWORLD

“Everybody has a story worth telling but not everybody has a story worth telling on a stage in front of an audience. Roderick Ferguson does.”
    BROADWAYWORLD

Ive heard this show is just garbage. Dont go.
    MY MOTHER

Roderick Ferguson is a comedian-singer-actor-storyteller-activist, but really, who isnt? Born and raised in Bermuda, Roderick moved to Boston and worked in software until the lure of the cabaret world proved too much to resist. This gateway drug soon led him to stand up comedy, to several years at the Provincetown Cabaretfest, to the 2017 St Louis Cabaret Conference, and eventually to the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Acting in NYC.

Roderick has performed his cabaret shows at Club Cafe in Boston, the Ocean State Theater Company and the Arctic Playhouse in RI, the Crown and Anchor in Provincetown, and Dont Tell Mama in NYC. Roderick has performed stand-up and storytelling comedy shows in Boston at Nicks Comedy Stop, The Comedy Studio, and in the LGBTQ showcase of the 2016 Women in Comedy Festival. Roderick also had a recurring segment called Rods Proper Gander on New England Pride TV.

Roderick recently performed in an Off Off-Broadway production of Sondheims Into The Woods as the Wolf, Rapunzels Prince, AND the Royal Steward. Prior to that he performed the part of Cedric Roberson, the crazy juror, in Jury Duty, the Musical by Doug Cohen.

Roderick has also performed drag as the charming, yet reclusive 2011 Royal Gender Bender of Boston Pride, Miss Rhonda Bout. Rhondas credits include City Hall in Bermuda.
