Summer of Sass presents their inaugural Strawberry Social!

Last off season, Summer of Sass watched the movie “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar” at the end of the movie :::SPOILER ALERT:::  the bigoted law enforcement officer tracks down the three drag queens to the fictional town of Snydersville, Nebraska. When he attempts to locate the “men in dresses” at the town’s annual Strawberry Social party, the townsfolk emerge in drag, to protect the queens that have become near and dear to their hearts.

We discussed what sort of fundraisers we should establish for Summer of Sass, Seraphim said “We should have a Strawberry Social!” …and so it began! As the pressure on our LGBTQIA+ community rises across the country, Let’s come together in our small town and raise funds for a program getting young LGBTQIA+ adults out of harms way and to the supportive community of Ptown. what better way to raise money, than with a PARTY!

There will be snacks, a cash bar (limited alcohol) and a mocktail (booze free) bar. as we want this event to feel inclusive of our entire community and create a space where everyone can be themselves. LAWN GAMES! RAFFLE! PERFORMANCES! PRIZES! SILENT AUCTION! Music by DJ KT
