    Far Land Cinnamon Rolls


    • 2 ½ cups all purpose flour
    • 1 ¼ t baking powder
    • ½ t baking soda
    • 2 T sugar
    • ½ t salt
    • 6 T melted butter
    • 1 ¼ cups buttermilk

    Filling Ingredients:

    • ¼ cups sugar
    • ¾ cups dark brown sugar
    • 2 t cinnamon
    • ½ t cloves
    • 6 T melted butter


    • Preheat oven to 425.
    • Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl.
    • Stir in the buttermilk & butter. Mix well, then turn out on a floured surface & knead a few turns until smooth, adding additional flour as necessary.
    • Roll or pat out into a rectangle about 6 inches by about 12 inches.
    • Combine sugars, spices and 2 T of the butter & mix well.
    • Brush dough with some of the remaining melted butter.
    • Spread filling evenly over dough leaving a 1 inch plain border on one long side. Press into dough a little bit.
    • Begin rolling up from the opposite long side, like a jelly roll. Pinch dough together to seal.
    • Using a serrated knife, cut into 10 equal pieces and place on a parchment-lined pan about 1 inch apart.
    • Brush with remaining melted butter and bake till lightly golden for about 12-15 minutes.
    • Let cool slightly and drizzle with glaze.
    • For Glaze: combine 1 c powdered sugar & 3-4 T buttermilk
