    Here is your Guide to First Light in Provincetown.

    First Light is an opportunity to “do” New Years Weekend right for everyone! Events, Celebrations, Fireworks! 2023 will be more for ptownie!

    Dina Martina Christmas Show
    Thursday & Friday December 29 & 30

    The holiday season will be extra special this year, as beloved comic genius Dina Martina will blanket Provincetown in yuletide merriment with THE DINA MARTINA CHRISTMAS SHOW. Miss Martina (a.k.a. “The Second Lady of Entertainment”) will be bringing her famed train wreck of a holiday show to the Paramount at the Crown & Anchor for the first time since 2018.

    A-House New Year’s Celebration
    Thursday-Saturday December 29-31

    Provincetown’s #1 dance club comes alive every night of the New Year’s Celebration with 2023! with the best sounds and atmosphere in town. Unlike other clubs that try to reflect a big city feel, the A-House Dance a true feel of Provincetown. State of the art lighting and sound mixed in with an old nautical feel makes for the perfect experience in this historical fishing village. Special 2AM close time on NYE!

    Freedom: The George Michael Experience
    Friday December 30

    Freedom: The George Michael Experience is an electrifying immersive musical event celebrating the life and iconic songs of one of pop music’s greatest stars. Starring and conceived by New York pop singer/songwriter Todd Alsup, this upbeat “club music cabaret” traces Michael’s trailblazing history through 20 of his most unforgettable hits including “Careless Whisper,” “Father Figure,” “Faith” and “Freedom ‘90.”

    New Year Macho Bar

    Provincetown’s original leather and Levi bar that provides the right atmosphere weekend with New Year Macho Bar with a cruisey scene perfect for this clientele and alternative to the club scene. This dark sensual room comes complete with a cage and is a popular hang-out for those into the leather, Levi or uniform scene. Special 2AM close time on NYE!

    Light Bright Bike Ride Provincetown
    Saturday December 31

    Light Bright Bike Ride on New Year’s Eve for on this annual fun, short bike ride along Provincetown’s Commercial Street. The Light Bright Bike Ride starts at 4:30 PM on December 31 right in front of the Public Library at 356 Commercial Street. The ride takes about 15 minutes plus 15 minutes for the awards ceremony. Stop by the library starting before the ride if you need help with decorations. We’ll have some lights, glow sticks, garlands, and other swag to help you bling out your bike.

    Join us on New Year’s Eve as we celebrate Ring in 2023 with Lea DeLaria, Qya Cristal, and The Chris Grasso Trio. We have 2 seatings, and 2 fabulous shows! Start your revelry at 5 pm to 8 pm at The Club Provincetown with our 3 course dinner and performances by Qya Cristal and Lea DeLaria. Or ring in the new year 9 pm to closing at The Club Provincetown with our 4 course dinner, Hats, Noisemakers, Champagne Toast, and performances by Lea DeLaria and Qya Cristal.

    New Year’s Eve Provincetown Fireworks
    Saturday December 31

    Celebrate the arrival of the New Year with Fireworks high above Provincetown’s Harbor on New Year’s Eve.
    Scheduled for 5:30pm, Fireworks are dependent on weather conditions and may be rescheduled in the event of adverse conditions.

    The First Light Fireworks Celebration over the harbor – originally scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. – will now launch from MacMillan Pier at dusk on Saturday, December 31, and the best views for the fireworks are on the beach by the pier.

    2023 Provincetown Polar Bear Plunge
    Sunday January 1

    On New Years Day 2023, January 1st, Provincetown will celebrate the sixth annual Polar Bear Plunge. On that day, an intrepid group of people will gather in the Johnson Street parking lot, collect T-shirts, listen to some carefully selected music spun by our DJ, Chris Racine, and learn about the important work of the Center for Coastal Studies. At noon, weather permitting, we will run, splash and plunge into the waters of Provincetown Harbor.
