The East Coast premiere of a newly re-imagined adaptation of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt’s landmark musical, The Fantasticks. While retaining the show’s timelessly romantic score (“Soon It’s Gonna Rain,” “I Can See It,” “Try to Remember…”), librettist Tom Jones has revised his original script of The Fantasticks to find the young lovers Matt and Luisa have become — Matt and Luis! Moreover, they aren’t being pushed into each other’s arms by their prankster, gardening fathers, but rather by their prankster, gardening mothers! With fresh twists on all the characters, the summer-long run of The Fantasticks in Provincetown – in an adaptation that debuted in 2022 at the Flint Repertory Theatre in Michigan — is a musical theater event not to be missed.
This summer, Cody Sullivan will be performing every Monday at 7:30 in the Piano Lounge at the Gifford House, creating new plays weekly with rotating guest artists in Cody Plays, well with Others.
Welcome to the second annual ptownie Art Issue. Like all things ptownie, this art-filled magazine you hold in your hands is the inspiration of our publisher, Mike Miller. Mike’s vision for the issue is to celebrate art, and we do just that with full-page images that you don’t see much anymore.
In a town renowned for bringing in some of the best world-class artists to show and perform, Great Music on Sundays @5 stands out: for 25 years, it has been offering residents and visitors alike the opportunity to hear what is rightly called “music without borders,” with over 350 concerts, hundreds of performers, and thousands of concert-goers.
There’s a place in the town’s East End that could give Alice and her Wonderland a run for their money. From the outside, the Mary Heaton Vorse House looks like any other venerable Cape Cod abode. But step through the door and you’re immersed in a magical world of beauty, warmth, and charm that is intoxicating.
