Hennep opens cannabis dispensary in Provincetown

Monday, May 3rd sees the opening of Hennep, Provincetown’s third and most recent adult-use cannabis dispensary.

Located at 246 Commercial Street, Hennep (the name means “cannabis” or “hemp” in Dutch) offers a full menu of cannabis products including flower, pre-rolls, vaporizers, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, and topicals. The company strives to provide earth-friendly local products that give back to the community.

“I love this town,” says owner Andrew Koudijs. “My mother and her partner used to bring me here when I was just a kid—there weren’t a lot of families like mine where I lived, so it felt really good to be here. And when we decided to start the business, I knew this was exactly where I wanted to be.” He moved to Provincetown full-time during the winter.

Koudijs and business partner Colin Noel were freshmen at Boston University when adult-use cannabis was legalized in Massachusetts, and they spent the next three years attending class by day and working on what would become Hennep by night. Now, at 24 years old, they may be the youngest owners in the business.

    Hours & Online Ordering

The shop will be open from 9am to 9pm daily, with both owners on hand to greet and assist visitors and make sure everything is running smoothly. The menu is available online at www.hennep.com, and visitors are asked to make their choices before arriving at the dispensary. “We want to make sure we’re good neighbors,” says Koudijs, which includes not obstructing the street with long lines.

Budtenders are available to answer questions about various products, and the website will soon include a chat feature for online consultation.

“I’m thrilled to be in business here,” says Koudijs. “It’s been a long time coming, and we couldn’t be more excited.”
Hennep is located at 246 Commercial Street and online at www.hennep.com
